Monday, the 28th, we all got up and got ready to head to the Nauvoo temple for an endowment session at 10 and baptisms for the youth. Up until like 15 minutes before we left, Trent had planned to stay behind with our kiddos (which I felt really bad about), but then we found out Drew was staying behind because he forgot his recommend. He offered to hang out with Brittany (who was watching Adler) and the other little kids (Aiden, Sawyer, Tessa, Janie). I was so glad Trent could come :)
Drew with Janie and Brittany with Adler. They're like a cute little married couple with twins ;)
The temple was absolutely beautiful and I seriously loved being in there with so much family. It was a really neat experience.
We had to get some pictures when we came out. I love the sunbeams in this one :)
Looking tiny in this one.
Trent tried to get a photo of this butterfly flittering around ;)
We got back to the houses and had some lunch before we loaded up the vans again. Then we headed for Hannibal, Missouri where Mark Twain lived.
Little miss fell asleep in the car. She's even pretty when she sleeps ;)
We had some time at first to walk around the cute little town before we headed to the Mark Twain cave.
Amy cuddled Janie right up - it was like 50 degrees in the cave after all.
My cute Aiden.
Legendary outlaw Jesse James hid in this cave.
Lots of people left their marks.
Those big black hole looking marks are from thousands of bats.
She zonked.
After the cave we ended the evening on the Mark Twain Riverboat dinner cruise along the Mississippi River.
Janie was checking out the drink menu with Aunt Jill ;)
We tried to get a family photo. Aiden was kind of over pictures ;)
Up top with Aunt Jen.
Another try at a family picture.
Then Aiden started picking. Whenever I try to get Aiden to stop, he gets pretty upset and yells, "I have to get the boogie"..haha.
This was the day that Janie turned 3 months and Adler turned 4 months, so we had to get a picture with the babes :)
Sissies.
Paigey was on Janie duty ;)
The next day, the 29th, we hung out in Nauvoo. It's such a cute little town. I love how quaint it is :)
Walking down Main Street.
We stopped to feed Janie girl...
...and the bagpipe band came playing down the street!
They stopped in this courtyard area for a while.
We could always see the temple :)
Jill cozying up to Joseph Smith ;)
And Jen too.
We had to put the raccoon hat on Aiden ;)
Crazy moth Amber found on the ground.
I love this memorial of Joseph and Hyrum Smith in front of the temple.
My boys.
There were some buggy rides going on.
We made our way over to the Visitor's Center and loved all of the statues out in the courtyard.
Joseph and Emma Smith.
A look at our new double stroller. We thought we probably better buy one before this trip.
Tiny model of the Nauvoo temple up on the hill.
I picked out this painting by my great-great-great grandpa, C.C.A. Christensen, right away :)
Posterity ;)
Loving my little beauty girl :)
She's so girly ;)
The Christus.
Model of the baptismal font.
She kills me.
Beautiful green!
Both kids fell asleep :)
After lunch at Grandpa John's, we met up with Rick and the young Whitmore's and went on a quick tour of Brigham Young's home.
The root cellar out back.
Then we walked over to the Smith Family Cemetery.
Hyrum, Joseph, and Emma Smith's graves.
That evening we went to the Hotel Nauvoo for dinner.
We had to get a picture with Thane before he and Shelby headed home that night. We're the '06ers.
Later we got to see the Nauvoo Pageant. Before the pageant started they had the grounds set up with pioneer games and activities for everyone to try.
Trent and Jen trying out the stilts.
Hayden, Jen, Trent, and Amanda.
Trent and Hayden really got it!
My aunts Cindy and Suzy went up against each other for the stick pull :)
I love these pictures of Aiden and Trent. You should zoom in and check out how cute Aiden is trying with that little face :)
Of course everyone wanted to see the twins go against each other ;)
Getting set up.
It doesn't look like it, but we were pulling really hard at this point..haha.
She almost got me at this point, but I ended up winning (our memory card was full)..haha.
The stage with the temple in the background.
It was a great production, all about Joseph Smith and the saints.
We got home that evening and Miss Janie was completely out.
We had missed the Bachelorette finale the night before, so we stayed up until like 1 to watch it online :) I love that it's something we all love ;)
So fun to read and see all your photos!
