Easter Sunday

I'm finally getting around to posting about our Easter! We had a wonderful Easter weekend. We spent Saturday and Sunday watching General Conference (a worldwide conference for our church, held twice a year, where we receive counsel from our prophet and Church leaders). Unfortunately this was the first time where I really felt like I missed most of it. It seemed like the kids needed our constant attention! And then our router decided to stop working at the end of the Sunday morning session :/ Thank goodness we can watch and/or read all of the talks again when we have some quiet time ;)

Sunday morning, before Conference, we let the kids see their Easter baskets/gifts. I am so irritated because I thought I had been recording the whole thing, but I only got the very beginning and the very end :/ Fail!

Janie got her first tea set (thank you Target dollar section!). Aiden was enjoying it along with her ;)

Later the kids seemed to have more fun with the "grass" than anything else. Such a mess!

After Conference Sunday afternoon, we headed to Tanis and Kent's for a most delicious Easter dinner and egg hunt. Tanis invited my family and it was really nice to have both families together. Trent's second cousin, Courtney, was there as well, with her husband, Eric, and 2-year-old daughter Mia. They've recently moved to AZ and we are loving seeing them more often :)

Tanis and Kent really scored with this trash truck for Aiden. We had had the same one, but a while back Aiden brought it into the tub, and then we went on vacation or something, and came back and mold had started growing in it, so we had to toss it. Aiden's so happy to have it back now! We definitely won't be taking this one in the tub..haha.

Janie got a doll :)

Cheesin' ;)

My mom got Janie this adorable little dress while she was in Costa Rica. It's a little low-cut..haha.

The kids were really anxious to get outside for the Easter egg hunt. Well the two older kids, I should say - Janie had no idea what was going on!

She only got this egg b/c I threw it to her..haha.

Aiden clutched his new garbage truck the whole time he searched for eggs ;)

Whoops, bad shadows from this angle.

Family photo.

I know it's silly to post all of these, but I kind of love seeing the progression. Janie's the only one that really changes..haha.

She wouldn't let go of those two eggs!

Our cute kids!

My mom had us jump in.

Janie with Aunt Amber.

The kids with my family. Janie turned right as I snapped :/

Mia (and her adorable bunny ears) with Aiden and Janie.

I was so, so grateful that Aiden got along with Mia pretty well. Last time did not go so well, but this time he did a pretty good job of sharing. And he even gave her the cutest hug at the the end!

Had to get this shot of the sunset on our way home!

I know I'm late, but I couldn't end this without expressing the knowledge of my Savior and that He lives. I was reading in Alma 38 last week, where Alma is counseling his son Shiblon, and in verse 5 he says, "And now my son, Shiblon, I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day."  I know this is true and I am so grateful that, because of Him, I can be with my adorable little family forever.

11 months

So Miss Janie turned 11 months last Sunday, the 28th.  I cannot even believe she'll be a year old this month!!

Here's what she's been up to in the last month:
  • She started saying "uh oh". Apparently we say it more than we realize and one evening one of us said it and we heard her repeat it! Now she says it all the time! I'm calling it her first word :)  I don't really count "mama" and "dada" ;)  Here's a little video.
  • This girl crawls so fast on the hard floors that she's wearing holes in all of her pajamas. It's driving me nuts!!  I never thought I'd be so anxious for her to start walking, but I'm sick of buying new pajamas! Thankfully...
  • ...she took her first steps on the 26th.  Then she wouldn't try again for the whole week. This happened with Aiden too. We encourage her a lot though and she'll take up to 4 steps at a time now.  She is fully confident using the doggy walker though ;)

At Grandma and Grandpa Knuckles' with their little walker. She was so proud of herself ;)

  • Janie has figured out how to turn on the water. I always take her to the bathroom to clean her up after she eats and she loves to turn the water on herself.

  • If we leave Janie's car seat out, she always climbs in. She loves playing in it.  Lately, though, she hates when I actually need to put her in and she'll arch her back to try to keep me from getting her in there :/

Love this one!

Here are some more pictures from the last month.  I know I've posted a bunch of these to Instagram, but I like to have all of the pictures in the same place.

Playing with a friend, Channing.

We moved into our new home over the course of the last month and sold some of our furniture before the move. Janie thought it was pretty neat that the t.v. was on the ground for a while after we sold the media stand.

We love that the carts at Costco make it possible to have both kids sit in the front. Sometimes when we're grocery shopping Aiden insists on squishing up front with Janie.

One morning when Janie was waiting so patiently for me to get her breakfast..haha.

Janie squeezed the nipple on her bottle and perfect little droplets of milk landed all over her face (you can see if you enlarge)..haha.

One morning Aiden came to get me because Janie was making a mess. Turns out she had gotten into Trent's Muscle Milk (protein powder) and it was all over the floor (it kind of blends in). Apparently she thought it was pretty tasty! We have since moved the Muscle Milk to a higher shelf ;)

I've been giving Janie a sippy cup with water lately trying to prepare her for the transition from a bottle to a sippy cup when she turns one in a few weeks.

The kiddos in this fun cart at Home Depot.

Trent was exercising outside and Janie wanted to be out with him.

We gave Janie a quesadilla one night. Most of it ended up on the ground..ha.

St. Patrick's Day. This is the best shot I could get..haha.

The kiddos spent a lot of time watching movies as I packed for our move.

We were cleaning out the refrigerator at the rental after we moved out. Janie is always drawn to the refrigerator.

We've discovered that Janie really likes to lounge in the last month. If there's ever a pillow or any kind of cushion behind her, she'll always lay back on it..ha.

We went to the waffle truck for dinner on International Waffle Day.

Janie still loves to eat. She wants anything we're eating.

We went to the park and I had to show off Janie's cute sandals. I never put shoes on her! I'm going to have to start here pretty soon though, as she really starts walking.

We upgraded to a king-size bed and it has storage drawers that Janie happens to fit perfectly in ;)

Checking out our new great park.

Look at the little smile on her face going down the slide :)

Such a cute little clubhouse.

Proof that Janie unrolls the toilet paper anytime she can get her little hands on it!

She's always by Aiden's side when he's in the bath.

And pretty much always gets soaked..haha.

Daddy took a day off work last week, so we went to Joe's Farm Grill for lunch.

We loved being outside before it gets too hot here.

Janie trying to push Aiden :)

Then we went to Target and Aiden decided he wanted to sit in Janie's seat, so they swapped.

Later he joined her. Love them!

Just a few sleeping pics.

Poor thing fell asleep sitting up!

Asleep in the car. She had been playing with the soccer ball.
