Easter Sunday

I'm finally getting around to posting about our Easter! We had a wonderful Easter weekend. We spent Saturday and Sunday watching General Conference (a worldwide conference for our church, held twice a year, where we receive counsel from our prophet and Church leaders). Unfortunately this was the first time where I really felt like I missed most of it. It seemed like the kids needed our constant attention! And then our router decided to stop working at the end of the Sunday morning session :/ Thank goodness we can watch and/or read all of the talks again when we have some quiet time ;)

Sunday morning, before Conference, we let the kids see their Easter baskets/gifts. I am so irritated because I thought I had been recording the whole thing, but I only got the very beginning and the very end :/ Fail!

Janie got her first tea set (thank you Target dollar section!). Aiden was enjoying it along with her ;)

Later the kids seemed to have more fun with the "grass" than anything else. Such a mess!

After Conference Sunday afternoon, we headed to Tanis and Kent's for a most delicious Easter dinner and egg hunt. Tanis invited my family and it was really nice to have both families together. Trent's second cousin, Courtney, was there as well, with her husband, Eric, and 2-year-old daughter Mia. They've recently moved to AZ and we are loving seeing them more often :)

Tanis and Kent really scored with this trash truck for Aiden. We had had the same one, but a while back Aiden brought it into the tub, and then we went on vacation or something, and came back and mold had started growing in it, so we had to toss it. Aiden's so happy to have it back now! We definitely won't be taking this one in the tub..haha.

Janie got a doll :)

Cheesin' ;)

My mom got Janie this adorable little dress while she was in Costa Rica. It's a little low-cut..haha.

The kids were really anxious to get outside for the Easter egg hunt. Well the two older kids, I should say - Janie had no idea what was going on!

She only got this egg b/c I threw it to her..haha.

Aiden clutched his new garbage truck the whole time he searched for eggs ;)

Whoops, bad shadows from this angle.

Family photo.

I know it's silly to post all of these, but I kind of love seeing the progression. Janie's the only one that really changes..haha.

She wouldn't let go of those two eggs!

Our cute kids!

My mom had us jump in.

Janie with Aunt Amber.

The kids with my family. Janie turned right as I snapped :/

Mia (and her adorable bunny ears) with Aiden and Janie.

I was so, so grateful that Aiden got along with Mia pretty well. Last time did not go so well, but this time he did a pretty good job of sharing. And he even gave her the cutest hug at the the end!

Had to get this shot of the sunset on our way home!

I know I'm late, but I couldn't end this without expressing the knowledge of my Savior and that He lives. I was reading in Alma 38 last week, where Alma is counseling his son Shiblon, and in verse 5 he says, "And now my son, Shiblon, I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day."  I know this is true and I am so grateful that, because of Him, I can be with my adorable little family forever.

Easter Surprise

Holidays are so dang fun with a little one!  Here are the pictures from our Easter Sunday :)

Aiden checking out his Easter basket.  We kept it simple because there was a big surprise waiting in the backyard ;)

Reese's peanut butter egg at 8 o'clock in the morning ;)

Showing Aiden his surprise :)

We won't normally do something this big for Easter, but we were thinking we should really get something since we have a backyard now. We had been thinking about getting one back in March, but we aren't ones to just "hand" things to Aiden, so when we thought about Easter coming up, we thought it was the perfect time to surprise him :)

And now you get a glimpse of our ugly backyard.  We moved in and the whole lawn was weeds.  Trent tried to revive the grass, but it seems to have all died off, so he'll be reseeding soon.  We're just happy to have a backyard, although it is pretty ugly..haha.

Traditional Easter family photo before Church.  37 1/2 weeks.

Aiden by our Easter display table :)

And tonight both of our families came by for Aiden's Easter egg hunt.

Grandma and Grandpa Knuckles got Aiden this little lawn mower. We saw one just like it that he loved at a birthday party and knew he had to have one ;)

I wish I'd gotten more pictures with the family :/

It was a wonderful Easter Sunday.  How grateful I am for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice for me.  I know He lives, and because He lives, we will all live again too.  Because of Him I will get to be with my sweet family forever!

200th post!

I didn't know if I was going to post about Easter, but I have a few pictures from it, so I thought I might as well.  Better late than never, right?

The night before Easter, Trent and I went with a group of friends to see the Mesa Temple Easter Pageant.  My cute friend Christie got to dance in it as one of the ten virgins :)

The pageant was so beautiful and was such a wonderful reminder to me of all that my Savior has done for me and each of you.  I just picture the day when I get to see Him again and run to Him with open arms to hug Him and thank Him.  I know He lives!

Easter morning we had Aiden's little Easter basket set out for him with a few surprises.

I wish I had gotten his face in these pictures.

Got him a little slinky since he loves the one at Grandma and Grandpa Knuckles'.

As of today though, it is ruined.  We had a little friend over and they were fighting over it and bent it out of shape :(  I may just have to run back over to Target.  It was just in the dollar section :)

We only hid 5 eggs since we knew we'd be having another hunt later with our families.  And I only put one mini Cadbury egg in each..haha.

We went to Church for 2 hours, but headed home because I wasn't feeling good.  It seems, more often than not, I get a headache on Sundays.  I feel like it's because I don't drink enough water and Church is so long.  Needless to say, we did not get a picture in our Easter outfits :(  That was the last thing on my mind.

After a good nap and some fluids I was feeling much better.  We headed over to my parents' for Easter dinner with Tanis and Kent too.

Got this cute family picture with our Easter baskets from Mom :)

After dinner we headed down to the park for Aiden's Easter egg hunt.

I hardly got any pictures because I was helping out Aiden.  Jen was nice enough to get these two on my camera.

My mom got eggs that were all different sports balls.  And Aiden kept saying "ball" :)  Anything semi-round is a ball to him..ha.  Although, technically, these were "balls" :)

Aiden ate way too much sugar that night.  His tummy hurt the next day.

Running around with Dad in the field.

Sadly I did not get any pictures with the rest of the family.  My sisters will attest that all of the pictures on my camera are of Aiden. He's just so cute ;)
